View Tentative Bike Route in a larger map
Mike and I sat down the other day and mapped out the gist of our route, and this is what we came up with. A loop around Southeast Asia, followed by a dash down the length of Indonesia, a flight (if we can't find a boat) to Chennai, India (or maybe Dhaka, Bangladesh), then head in the general direction of Pakistan, with a detour through Nepal.
We plan to depart by October 6th, and be on our way out of India by May or Early June. Depending on money and safety concerns, we may either take the Karakorum Highway through Pakistan and into western China, or head through Nepal into Tibet and then towards western China.
Next we'll have to make our way through the 'stans, across the Caspian Sea, and into Azerbaijan, Georgia, and then Turkey.
I'm not even going to begin to speculate on what the plan after that is. A lot can happen in one year and 15,000 kilometers.
